Advanced Behavioral Monitoring for Animal Research

Our Misson

Animal behavioral monitoring is vital in medication trials across various fields of medicine, beyond neurological and psychological disorders. By systematically observing animal behaviors, researchers can detect subtle changes that may indicate drug efficacy or adverse effects, such as alterations in feeding patterns, grooming, or activity levels.

These behavioral changes can reflect underlying physiological or metabolic processes affected by the medication, providing early indicators of the drug's impact on overall health and function. This comprehensive assessment helps ensure the safety and effectiveness of new treatments, guiding dosage adjustments and identifying potential risks before human trials.

Consequently, behavioral monitoring is integral to the development of a wide range of pharmaceuticals, from oncology to cardiovascular treatments. LabMouse.ai solution is compatible with existing animal facility and rack from Tecniplast. It allows to monitor the animal without changing its environment and its cycle / habits. LabMouse.ai solution using thermal images is allowing to monitor the animal without disturbing him and without any additional light.

Rodent Behavior Monitoring

Rodent Behavior Monitoring Graphic

Our cognitive infrared cameras target to monitor basic rodent cage activities such as:

  • Eating

  • Drinking

  • Sleeping

  • Resting

  • Grooming

  • Locomotion

  • Social interaction

  • Vocalization

Use Cases

Rodent Selection

Rodents exhibit distinct characteristics and strong social behavior. Our current generation of cognitive infrared cameras can observe up to two rodents at a time. Selecting two rodents with similar characteristics enhances variation detection. Therefore, one application is to identify rodents with similar characteristics for growth acquaintance and experiment selection.

Medical Trials

Extended observation of rodent behaviors, to detect subtle changes related to drug efficacy or adverse effects, through alterations in feeding patterns, grooming, and activity levels.

Welfare Monitoring

Monitor constantly the welfare of the animal within the animal facility. Reduce the need of sentinel animal.
